UCW Academies is accepting applications to the Paralegal diploma program at its Victoria campus. UCW Academies offers the only program of its kind offered at a Vancouver Island college.
The Paralegal diploma program prepares students to work in a variety of legal workplaces. Students develop advanced keyboarding, computer and transcription skills, as well as business communication, office skills and customer service. They also gain a broad understanding of the Canadian legal system, court structure, legal procedures and practices, wills and estates, legal rights, evidence and more.
Job prospects for paralegals continue to be strong and are predicted to grow in coming years, according to the Government of Canada. Graduates of this program will be prepared to work in law offices, government land title offices, and corporate legal departments.
