Catalyst Resources SaaS and User Interface Design Experts Bring Increased Appeal, Simplicity, Flexibility to PENTA Enterprise Engineering and Construction Software

Penta is focused on enhancing our products to make our customers more productive and better able to manage costs through a tough economic period.

Penta Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of integrated enterprise software for the engineering and construction industries, announces today that it is working with Catalyst Resources, a leader in user interface design for Software as a Service (SaaS), to deliver an enhanced user experience across Penta's suite of products. The new design will make financial, job costing, document and process information available to Penta users in a more intuitive, accessible and high-performance manner.

Penta software manages the core financial and operational business processes for North America's largest, most diverse engineering and construction firms. Committed to bringing its customers better process visibility and a more appealing user experience, Penta sought to supplement its construction software development expertise by engaging a firm to design a best-in-class user interface.

"Our search was primarily for a firm with extensive Enterprise Software and User Interface design experience," said Cam Smith, Penta Vice President of Software Development. "At the same time, we needed that firm to work collaboratively with our software development staff to bolster our own internal UI skills."

Catalyst Resource's team of experienced UI architects, designers, and developers are working with Penta to design a new, modular and highly intuitive user interface that will make it possible for any relevant stakeholders to access and use pertinent information.

"PENTA software brings a unique paradigm which has challenged the Catalyst team technically," added Smith. "They have professionally tackled those challenges, and have partnered with our team to develop compelling UI design solutions that will increase user satisfaction and efficiency."

The slowdown in the construction industry is experiencing places an even greater importance on the performance of a contractor's enterprise software. "The turbulent economic environment for construction means that contractors will be looking for better, more consistent performance from their employees and their software investments," said Smith. "Penta is focused on enhancing our products to make our customers more productive and better able to manage costs through a tough economic period."

The new user interface is expected to undergo user testing in the first half of 2009, with public rollout in the second half of the year.
