I found Camcode to be the most familiar with the military standard we had to meet. I had a confidence in Camcode that I didn’t get with other manufacturers.

The complex requirements of adhering to MIL-STD-130, the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) standard for labeling and tracking all military property, is a source of confusion for many military prime contractors.
With MIL-STD-130, military subcontractors are required to place item UID labels (or unique identification labels) on their equipment. However, many struggle with the often-confusing concept of UID. In fact, the DoD estimates that only 10 percent of military contractors fully meet the requirements of MIL-STD-130 currently.
“Military subcontractors frequently come to us confused about the standard and unsure how they can achieve compliance,” said Randy Uveges, UID Product Manager for Camcode, the leading supplier of barcode labels for UID applications. “Camcode doesn’t just provide barcode labels for these clients; we provide them with the knowledge and expertise required to understand what’s expected of them.”
Recently, a military subcontractor who manufactures truck parts used in military tactical vehicles, interviewed several barcode label providers regarding their need to become UID compliant. The military subcontractor found Camcode’s UID expertise surpassed that of its competitors.
“After talking with each of those companies, I found Camcode to be the most familiar with the military standard we had to meet,” said the company’s production manager. “I had a confidence in Camcode that I didn’t get with other manufacturers.”
Camcode’s experience in military labeling dates back to the 1950s, when the U.S. Navy began using Metalphoto® anodized aluminum labels and data plates (from Camcode’s parent Horizons Inc.) on its vessels. Today, Camcode is the most experienced label provider serving the UID market. Camcode’s UID tags satisfy a wide range of applications, including tactical applications with a zero-reflection requirement and applications requiring extreme sand and gravel resistance. The company also offers UID registration and label installation services to make UID compliance hassle-free.
“We’ve experienced excellent quality and very good accuracy,” said the production manager of the truck parts manufacturer. “Overall, we’re pretty happy with Camcode.”
