The UK User Group provides us with a great opportunity to interact with our customers and gain their honest feedback on our initiatives and future roadmap.
Reading, UK (Vocus) April 29, 2010
Orion Health™, a leading provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the healthcare sector, today announces the launch of the Rhapsody Integration Engine 4.0 Beta Programme at its UK User Group meeting at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to sign up for the Rhapsody beta programme and explore the enhanced capabilities of the software. Rhapsody provides high performance standards-based healthcare integration. The new version includes features that will make working with the NHS Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) standards easier.
Rhapsody Product Manager, Paul de Bazin said “These are exciting times for Orion Health. The functionality we have developed within Rhapsody 4 provides greater targeted features which support the ITK programme. The ITK programme provides a fresh approach to delivering interoperability within the UK and Orion Health is delighted to support this initiative.”
Orion Health staff, customers and partners will come together at the user group to discuss Orion Health’s innovative product and solution offerings, including the market leading Rhapsody Integration Engine and Concerto Clinical Portal. The user group will together explore implementation strategies for health IT projects – successes and challenges – and will have an opportunity to openly discuss issues confronting them as well as hear the future direction of Orion Health’s software development.
Many of Orion Health’s customers will be in attendance to present at the user group. Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust, will discuss its Electronic Discharge Summary system which recently went live. The solution uses Rhapsody Integration Engine, which formally passed witness testing by Connecting for Health on 31st March, to securely transmit a discharge summary to PCTI’s Docman EDT solution which is installed in local General Practitioner (GP) offices.
Rhapsody’s user-friendly graphical interface enabled Worcestershire’s Senior Programmer, Gary McCormack, to implement the ITK interfaces with no hands-on help from Orion Health staff. “Our implementation of the ITK Proof of Concept is another example of Rhapsody’s flexibility. As has been the case with other projects within the Trust, we were able to build, test and deploy the Rhapsody ITK components using the current release version of Rhapsody (3.4) in a very tight timescale. We are excited about beta testing the new release because we have a few projects in the pipeline that require us to publish and consume web services. By participating in the beta programme, we can try out the new web service tools, more accurately estimate our upcoming resource needs and offer feedback which potentially influences the Rhapsody roadmap.”
“The UK User Group provides us with a great opportunity to interact with our customers and gain their honest feedback on our initiatives and future roadmap.” says Charles Scatchard, Orion Health’s President of International.
