Sound dampening floor underlayment’s are now available in 20 new "green" product lines.

Rubber Flooring Inc. announces the introduction of a new line of flooring underlayment products designed to help sound proof floors and reduce acoustic transmission between adjacent rooms. In addition, the new line of underlayment’s is made entirely from 100% post-consumer and/or post-industrial recycled materials.

Sound control underlayment products have been around for a number of years”, states Rubber Flooring Inc. lead merchandiser Lamont Robbins. “As the real estate bubble expanded circa 2006 and high rise condominiums were exploding everywhere, the market for floor underlayment’s also exploded. Of course then the real estate market imploded and the demand for underlayment’s also declined.” Mr. Robbins continues, “Even with that decline in the overall size of the underlayment market, we decided it would be a good time to enter the market. Due to the decline in demand, we noticed that there was not a single company out there doing a good job marketing these products. Furthermore, we also realized that we already make and offer similar products so adding the new products would be easy for our company.”

Multiple lines of floor underlay are available from RubberFlooringInc.com. Rubber underlayment is available for use under hardwood, laminate, and engineered wood flooring systems. Cork underlayment is available for use under ceramic tiles and vinyl floors. All of the new underlayment flooring products are designed to dampen acoustical sound transmission between floor levels and between adjacent rooms.

“We have always focused on adding green flooring options, “states operations manager Justin Hoverson. “What we are able to do here is really exciting though. All of the rubber underlay products are made using 100% post-consumer / post-industrial recycled waste. That means the rubber has essentially been recycled twice. The cork underlayment products we added are from the sustainable resource cork which is used to make wine corks. When those corks are punched out, post-industrial waste is created. What we do is then grind that back up and remold the cork waste to form our cork underlayment products. Nothing is lost and everything is recycled.”

Kurt Leitinger, the COO of Rubber Flooring Inc. agrees. “We are proud of our company’s continued focus on offering green flooring products. What makes it even better though is that our green products actually work very well. Every underlayment we offer as a sound damping material has been tested to guarantee that the underlay will absorb a certain level of sound. We initially knew rubber would make for a great underlayment since many of our own gym flooring customers told us that they were surprised how much quieter their house was when someone was working out. Husbands could no longer hear their wives in the basement on the treadmill. Mothers could barely hear their kids playing in the home gym two rooms over. This benefit of rubber flooring helped lead us to develop the most complete acoustic floor underlayment line ever offered. And we guarantee each product.”
