Tom’s Insurance & Financial Services, a Colorado-based firm that offers asset protection and financial consultation services to families and business owners throughout the greater Denver metropolitan area, is embarking on a charity drive to help local families remain safe, warm, and fed this holiday season.

Tom’s Insurance is joining the Winter Shelter Network, a local nonprofit that works with many other organizations in the region, such as the Parker Task Force Food Bank, to provide low income families with fresh food, warm clothing, emergency shelter, or other critical resources. The Winter Shelter Network specializes in providing for children and single mother families.

“Studies show that nearly 70% of homeless families are headed by a single mother, which is why it’s so important that our efforts to offer assistance to families in need are focused on these women,” says Tom Wohrley, owner and acting manager of Tom’s Insurance & Financial Services.

Efforts to generate publicity for the charity event to assist the Winter Shelter Network are already underway, and the Tom’s Insurance team is building an online social media and email nexus to communicate with supporters. Additional exposure for the seasonal charity drive will be gained from the publication of a feature story in the upcoming edition of “Our Hometown,” a monthly online magazine hosted by Tom’s Insurance & Financial Services: http://tomsinsurance.com/magazines/.

The Winter Shelter Network support drive is only the first of many such charity events planned by Tom’s Insurance & Financial Services. Very recently, Wohrley and his team became active members of the “Agents of Change” nationwide charity support group, and the team plans to continue assisting Denver area charities at the rate of one every sixty days.

Readers that want to know more about the charity drive to support the Winter Shelter Network, or who want to show their support for the cause, are invited by Wohrley and his team to follow this link and take action: http://tomsinsurance.com/causes/place-call-home-winter-months/. Future charitable efforts undertaken by Tom’s Insurance & Financial Services will be detailed on the agency’s permanent Community Causes page: http://tomsinsurance.com/community/.
