there are over 10 million taxpayers with unfiled returns. Many of them have not filed for multiple years. We want them to know that they don't have to hide anymore, and that there is hope for those who want to get back in good standing with the IRS.
Greensboro, NC (Vocus) May 24, 2010
New River Innovation, Inc. announced today that it has developed a “Back-on-Track” service for individuals with unfiled tax returns. The program is offered to US taxpayers through a new web service called easyIRS.com™, http://www.easyIRS.com.
According to Jim Buttonow, Vice President of Product Development, “there are over 10 million taxpayers with unfiled returns. Many of them have not filed for multiple years. We want them to know that they don’t have to hide anymore, and that there is hope for those who want to get back in good standing with the IRS.” Mr. Buttonow, a retired IRS veteran of 19 years, is an outspoken advocate for improving the relationship between the IRS and the public. He states that “the most important step anyone can take in resolving an IRS problem is simply to file their returns: that’s more than half the battle.” Filing now reduces future penalties and interest, and gives the taxpayer greater control over their repayment options. Taxpayers may also be able to take advantage of unclaimed refunds, tax credits, and deductions that the IRS does not typically give to non filers.
The easyIRS™ Back-on-Track product is a web-based software Wizard that guides taxpayers through a series of interview questions. At the end of a brief 2-3 minute interview, easyIRS provides a high level assessment of the taxpayer’s filing options. The software can also electronically retrieve the taxpayer’s IRS records and masterfile, reconciling actual IRS data with information provided by the taxpayer. Each taxpayer will also receive a one-on-one personal consultation with an easyIRS tax professional on the phone.
New River CEO Alan Neely explains that “the Back-on-Track service is designed to give taxpayers confidence and a better understanding of their status with the IRS before they file back tax returns.” Mr. Neely summed up the service with a medical analogy “it is always good to get a proper diagnosis, before trying to affect a cure.”
Ultimately, easyIRS hopes that this innovative solution gives people the knowledge and confidence to move forward with something they know they need to do.
New River Innovation believes that easyIRS.com is the first web service in the country to offer a web based diagnostic tool for prior year tax returns. The Back-on-Track program is available online at http://www.easyIRS.com, and it sells for less than $100.
