On October 18, 2012, Plaintiff Barbara Keefer filed a putative class and collective action lawsuit in the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio seeking minimum wages and overtime pay from her current employer, Union Savings Bank. The Complaint asserts that Union Savings Bank misclassified its loan officers as exempt, paying them on a commission-only basis, and denying them minimum wages and overtime pay when they worked more than forty (40) hours in a workweek. Plaintiff Keefer, and those similarly situated, seek to be compensated for those hours worked.
Union Savings Bank is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. It operates approximately 29 branches in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, and employs more than 100 loan officers.
