An exclusive whisky tasting and a night's stay at The Athenaeum is our way of providing guests with the option of a really unique Father's Day gift this year!
London, England (PRWEB) June 14, 2010
According to a recent customer survey, the most popular Father's Day gifts are neckties, socks and tools. Quite too often these days, the 'modern dad' will neatly place the tool in a corner of the garage for it never to be used. Or he will politely thank his son for the daffy duck labelled tie before stuffing it at the back of the cupboard. To avoid these inevitable situations, the key this year is to think out of the box and come up with a gift idea that your dad will genuinely enjoy.
In answer to this problem, a luxury hotel in London has announced a unique Father's Day gift idea - a bespoke whisky tasting and food pairing experience. The Athenaeum's whisky sommelier is one of only two in London, and the hotel is offering exclusive access to their Whisky Tasting Experience, free, when you book a room at the hotel before Father's Day on the 20th of June 2010.
Jonathan Critchard, General Manager of The Athenaeum commented: "An exclusive whisky tasting and a night's stay at The Athenaeum is our way of providing guests with the option of a really unique Father's Day gift this year!"
The expert whisky sommelier will provide a bespoke whisky tasting experience within the dedicated whisky bar at the luxury London hotel, and is intended for whisky novices and aficionados alike. The Athenaeum's Whisky Bar in Mayfair London currently houses over 270 whiskies, ranging from established single malts from around the world to very rare whiskies from mothballed distilleries. By request, the whisky sommelier will also offer this Father's Day gift within the privacy of guestrooms or within private apartments.
The Athenaeum Hotel also offers a selection of whisky food pairing menus to complement its range of unique Father's Day gift ideas for 2010. The hotel has outlined two signature dishes to give a taste of what's available for all the much loved fathers out there: a home smoked rib eye with honey glazed onions and smoked halibut to go with a 14 year old Clynelish whisky, and the wild mushroom and goat cheese tartlets with parmigiano reggiano intended to be enjoyed with the 12 year old Caol Ila.
Also on the menu is the Glenmorangie Flight Experience - a unique Father's Day gift idea comprising of a rare flight of whiskies paired with decadent accompaniments such as lime sorbet and dark chocolate.
A whisky tasting and a night's stay at the Athenaeum is ideal if you're one of the increasing number of people looking for a more exciting Father's Day gift than the customary pair of socks this year.
