Due to an immediate need for assistance to Lebanon, caused by recent unrest in the Middle East, the Lebanon Relief initiative, a broad coalition of American-Lebanese business leaders, executives, entertainers, and philanthropists, have bonded together to raise money for relief efforts in Lebanon. The committee has called for an emergency aid effort to alleviate the needs of innocent civilians affected by war in the region. The response is, “United Lebanon Relief" Campaign and Telethon.
The goal is to raise upwards of $10 Million to plant a seed not only for re-building homes, feeding children, and saving lives, but for raising awareness, opening hearts, and re-building relationships. As Americans, we plan on carrying the mission of humanity and delivering help to those in need throughout the world, by demonstrating unity and support on behalf of the American and Lebanese-American communities for victims of war, and in turn promoting peace.
The campaign is a strictly a humanitarian effort, bringing people together from all walks of life and diverse standpoints to join hand in hand, free from any political, religious, or partisan agenda. The plan calls to initially raise $1 million through a PSA and Infomercial Media Campaign and go to upwards of $10 Million through a live benefit concert and telethon, and post event avenues such as web and pod casts, to assist civilians of Lebanon with medical supplies, food and other forms of humanitarian relief.
The campaign will broadcast to over 21 million homes around the world, from Hollywood CA, through media outlets which include The Dish Network, ART America, Dandana, Free Speech and more.
Talent and guests invited to attend and be a part of the concert and telethon are to include the likes of: Shakira, Casey Kasem, Salma Hayek, Haifa Wehbe, Lionel Richie, Janice Dickinson, Brian McKnight, Alicia Jacobs, Kathy Nijamy, Quincy Jones, Elie Samaha, Tony Shalhoub, Kerri Kasem, Jack Hanna, Tiffany, Tony Shadyac, Keanu Reeves and many more.
