Tiger Schulmann's MMA Student, Uriah Hall, Debuts on The Ultimate Fighter Premiere episode on the FX network.

Season 17 of, “The Ultimate Fighter” premiered on the FX network, Tuesday, January 22, 2013, 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Tiger Schulmann’s MMA student, Uriah Hall, debuted on the show.

In 1997, at the age of 16, Uriah Hall immigrated to Rego Park, in Queens County, New York from Jamaica. Immediately, students at school began bullying him as the new foreign kid. The bullying became so severe that he lost a tremendous amount of confidence and warranted an urgent course of action. His mother sought to rebuild his confidence by enrolling Uriah in Tiger Schulmann’s MMA, Rego Park.

Uriah excelled at MMA, quickly working his way up the ranks and caught the attention of Tiger Schulmann, who began instructing Uriah in the most advanced levels of MMA. Eventually, he became a Tiger Schulmann’s instructor and began participating in amateur, then professional competitions. Due to his exceptional abilities as an MMA professional, he was accepted as one of 32 applicants to fight for a spot on, “The Ultimate Fighter,” premiering on January 22, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on the FX network.

According to Uriah, “When I’m in any situation, I just say, ‘There’s another round left in me.’ If I always carry that attitude, and in this type of sport, when I carry that attitude, it carries over in other areas of my life. Whether it’s certain struggles I’m going through, I always think, ‘I can handle this no matter what.’”

Several Tiger Schulmann’s MMA schools will be hosting special events (parties and viewings) throughout the course of the show in solidarity with Uriah Hall’s fight to win the title of, “The Ultimate Fighter.”
