The U.S. floor coverings industry recovery is beginning to solidify as sales benefit from a surge in housing starts, strengthening existing home sales, and an increase in nonresidential building construction activity. As a result, dollar industry sales are forecast to increase at a 3.5% compound annual rate through 2017. This compares to a 5.0% annual industry growth rate experienced over the 1995 to 2005 period.
