We’ve simplified and taken bond valuation to a whole new level

SavingsBonds.com has announced an enhanced savings bond calculator and Savings Bond Inventory Report that will help eliminate bond owner confusion. Bond owners can now view and print a newly designed, personalized, color-coded Inventory Report. The report is not available elsewhere.

The enhanced report provides detailed financial information for each bond, including cash in values, current interest rates, next interest posting dates, along with maturity and timing issues, presented in a color-coded format. A “what this means to you” is included to help simplify bond information. There is also a color key description with suggested actions, helpful tips and alerts to help the investor make smart financial decisions and avoid losing money.

In addition, an overview section summarizes the portfolio information. Three sections are included that indicate “Re-title Alerts,” “Maturing Soon” and “Matured Bonds”.

Since most banks no longer handle savings bonds, millions of bond owners are left on their own to find out values and often turn to the internet for information. Millions of dollars are forfeited annually and unpleasant tax situations continue to occur because bond owners do not have enough detailed information about their bonds.

“Just knowing cash in amounts is only half of the story,” says Jackie Brahney, SavingsBonds.com marketing director. She adds, “We created a comprehensive report that explains what’s happening to each bond and helps owners make sense of their investment so they can make smart financial decisions. We’ve simplified and taken bond valuation to a whole new level.”

Most online bond calculators provide cash in values with little or no explanations. This can be costly to the bond owner, especially if they are planning on cashing in some or all of their bonds without knowing some additional, important information. Sometimes providing just the basics (i.e. cash in amounts), on a black and white print out, is not good enough.
