Collaboration will allow both distance learning organizations to share resources and better serve USDLA members via publications, expanded news, discounts and much more.

Today the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), the nation's premier distance learning association, and Distance-Educator.com, a California-based company founded by distance education pioneer, Dr. Farhad (Fred) Saba announced a series of collaborative efforts. This collaboration will allow both organizations to share resources and better serve USDLA members via publications, expanded news coverage, discounts and much more across its members and the more than two million visitors to the association’s website per month.

“We welcome Distance-Educator.com to the USDLA family. Dr. Saba is a respected leader, researcher, and practitioner with over 30 years of experience in the field of distance teaching and learning,” said John G. Flores, Ph.D., USDLA, Chief Executive Officer. “This collaboration will foster our mission of promoting the development and application of distance learning for education and training, and serving the needs of the distance learning community throughout the world.”

The technological revolution has brought networked computing to training and education. This revolution has the potential to democratize learning and training. Distance-Educator.com has been involved in this revolution from the beginning and is the place to start a search for any, and everything related to distance education and e-learning. If there is a quality resource, news item, or issue to address they point to it, provide the news, or do the research to bring the best information available.

USDLA continues to increase and improve member benefits every year to include the new USDLA Distance Learning magazine, timely news alerts, press releases, bookstores, career opportunity postings, the new complimentary Distance Learning 101 courses for students and instructors and the new Nova Southeastern University / USDLA Distance Learning Leadership Certificate Program as well as discounts to various conferences in the distance learning industry. In addition, a number of new global and state chapters have formed to provide additional networking opportunities.

“As a prior president of the Alliance for Distance Education in California, the California chapter of USDLA, I’ve seen USDLA continue to foster growth in this expanding market,” said Dr. Farhad (Fred) Saba, Chief Executive Officer of Distance-Educator.com. “We will work with USDLA to better serve those markets and connect distance education and training learners and organizations from around the world to the blended learning experience.” I have tremendous respect for Dr. John Flores’ leadership and look forward to working with him to serve USDLA members better with expanded services, said Dr. Saba.
