Thrift Books, an online retailer of used books, responds to customer requests and includes new discounts on shipping.

Auburn, WA (Vocus) October 11, 2010 -- Thrift Books is now offering free expedited shipping to customers who place orders of $25 or more on thriftbooks.com.

“Our standard shipping rates are already free, but we are now proud to offer free expedited shipping on larger orders to benefit our customers,” said Hector Rivas, Thrift Books’ chief executive officer.

Thrift Books’ free standard shipping guarantees that orders on cheap books sent within the United States will be received in 4 to 14 business days. Customers placing orders of $25 or more will automatically receive free expedited shipping within the United States, which guarantees that orders will be received within 3 to 8 business days. For orders that total less than $25, Thrift Books continues to charge a shipping cost of $2.99 per book for expedited shipping.

“The savings that this deal offers to our customers are potentially huge. Customers placing large orders will now receive those orders much faster—and with no extra charge or effort,” Rivas said.

Thrift Books has seven warehouses nationwide and offers approximately 6 million cheap used books for sale to its customers.

“We offer the widest selection of used books on the Internet and can do so because we have warehouses all across the nation. The time it takes for customers to receive books depends largely on the location of the warehouses that contain the books in a customer’s order,” said Seth Beal, Thrift Books’ president and chief operating officer. “Because we know our customers are anxious to receive their orders, offering free expedited shipping is an important service.”

Thrift Books also offers deals to customers ordering books from the same warehouse: There is a 50-cent discount for every additional book in an order that is purchased from the same warehouse.

The shipping rates for orders shipped to non-United States locations will remain the same.
