US Federal Contractor Registration is urging contractors and small businesses to verify their registration status now in order to be considered eligible for FEMA disaster relief contracts following Tropical Storm Issac’s projected landfall sometime this Wednesday morning. Updated forecast tracks for Issac from the NOAA place landfall in Louisiana sometime Wednesday as a Category 1 Hurricane.

In order to be considered eligible for any federal contracts, businesses must complete the required System for Award Management, or SAM, registration. This registration has recently replaced the previously required CCR and ORCA registration. FEMA disaster relief contracts also require vendors to submit a FEMA Vendor Profile in addition to other required registrations.

US Federal Contractor Registration is currently offering a free evaluation and review of vendors’ registration status, including their SAM registration. During the evaluation, a Placement Specialist will review the company's government contractor registration to ensure it is complete, contains the correct information and is optimized to help them win government contracts. Placement Specialists can also answer questions contractors may have about the new System for Award Management or current federal procurement opportunities.

“FEMA needs contractors to get registered so that they will have the resources necessary to respond to Issac’s impact,” explained Eric Knellinger, President of US Federal Contractor Registration.

US Federal Contractor Registration's government marketing services include the creation of a Dynamic Small Business Search profile for the vendor as well.

According to the agency’s blog, FEMA has already deployed an Incident Management Team to their Emergency Operations Center in Lousiana ahead of Tropical Storm Issac.
