"We know our customers are interested in delivering broader, richer application libraries to their users and the integration with UForge enables that expansion." Wendy Perilli, vice president of global marketing, Abiquo.
Cloud Expo, NY (PRWEB) June 07, 2011
Abiquo, the leading Enterprise Cloud Management software vendor, and UShareSoft, provider of a self-service factory for building cloud-ready software images, today announced a technology partnership that will enable customers to simplify application migration and management for enterprise datacenters and private clouds. The two companies are demonstrating the integration of UShareSoft's image building service with Abiquo's enterprise cloud management software platform at Cloud Expo in New York this week in booths #109 and A2.
The integration between UForge and Abiquo's cloud management platform enables joint customers to fully automate software delivery to their infrastructure and provide users with self-service provisioning of applications. Benefits include:
- Increased datacenter agility: enterprise IT departments can quickly migrate and maintain applications for their Abiquo infrastructure, offering users “on-demand” IT services. UForge also enables full software governance and compliance with licensing requirements and corporate guidelines.
- Streamlined software development and quality assurance (QA): enterprise and ISV customers can integrate UForge with their existing build processes, automatically assembling and publishing the latest builds to their Abiquo infrastructure. Support for shared virtual image libraries helps ensure a standardized development and test platform.
- Creation of an app store or service catalog: enterprise cloud providers can expand Abiquo-based Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offerings, with their own app store or service catalog for end users, and a full image building service for ISVs and software designers.
"We know our customers are interested in delivering broader, richer application libraries to their users and the integration with UForge enables that expansion," said Wendy Perilli, vice president of global marketing, Abiquo. "The combined solution allows applications to go from assembling to publishing to use in a quick and simple way."
UShareSoft's UForge Appliance Factory automates the creation and maintenance of virtual images and templates on any operating system for any cloud. UForge customers can now generate images in the industry-standard OVF format supported by Abiquo. UForge also includes direct connectors to the Abiquo platform, and supports Abiquo account credentials. This enables direct upload of |ready-to-run" images from UForge into a customer's Abiquo virtual image library, for immediate deployment or sharing with other users.
"Today's announcement makes it much simpler for enterprise customers to populate their Abiquo cloud with applications and IT services ready for consumption by end users," said James Weir, CTO, UShareSoft. "Visitors to Cloud Expo should visit the UShareSoft and Abiquo booths to find out how easily they can build and deploy virtual images."
