Doylestown, PA (PRWEB) August 13, 2010 –
CheapCaribbean.com, the largest U.S. dedicated online provider of beach vacations to the Caribbean and Mexico, announces “A Day of Service”, the newest addition to its CheapCaribbean.com Cares community outreach program. Through in-kind donations of vacation packages, customer matching programs, and employee volunteerism, CheapCaribbean.com Cares reaches far and wide to provide support for those in need in the greater Philadelphia area and in the beach destinations the company serves.
With A Day of Service, CheapCaribbean.com encourages volunteerism by offering employees a fully paid workday if they spend the day helping one of several local charities serving people suffering from terminal illness, domestic violence, poverty and homelessness. Beneficiaries include Tabor Children’s Services, Doylestown Food Pantry, A Woman’s Place, Habitat for Humanity, Crossing the Finish Line, and Greater Philadelphia Cares.
“The members of our family at CheapCaribbean.com care about more than just providing great vacation deals -- we also care about supporting our local community and the destinations we serve,” said Josh Paine, president and chief executive officer of CheapCaribbean.com. “From donating vacations for terminally ill patients in our own backyard, to sending volunteers to Haiti, CheapCaribbean.com Cares is our way of giving thanks for the many blessings we have enjoyed.”
In addition to supporting local organizations, CheapCaribbean.com Cares extends its outreach to destination communities in the Caribbean and Mexico, where much of the local population lives in poverty. CheapCaribbean.com provides funding and matches customer contributions to schools and children’s programs in the Riviera Maya, Barbados, Santo Domingo, and other island communities.
CheapCaribbean.com Cares is prepared to react quickly when tragedy strikes. Shortly after the Haiti earthquake in January 2010, the company partnered with World Relief and contributed more than $12,000 from employer and employee contributions, with the company matching donations. In addition, several employees traveled to Haiti where they provided relief support and brought smiles to the faces of many orphaned children with coloring books and beach balls.
