We are all striving for the same thing ... to bring awareness to North Myrtle Beach.

Vacation Rentals of North Mrytle Beach made its television news debut Monday, when co-owner Marcia Hanscome spoke to WBMF News in support of a $1 promotional fee local businesses have adopted. The fee will help fund North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce’s new marketing campaign for the area’s hospitality industry.

“On average it's a weekly stay, so it would just add seven dollars to their reservation and it helps bring more people to the area,” Hanscome told WMBF News in an interview. “It helps our businesses, restaurants and attractions."

According to WMBF’s report, 11 companies have already adopted the surcharge, including Vacation Rentals of North Myrtle Beach; five or six more are expected to do so. NMB’s Chamber of Commerce hopes to raise $500,000 with this new campaign.

In her interview, Hanscome encouraged other businesses to sign up.

“Even though we all have our separate businesses and we're basically in competition we are all striving for the same thing and that is to bring awareness to North Myrtle Beach,” she said.

Vacation Rentals of North Myrtle Beach is conveniently located at 1021 2nd Avenue North, Suite 6 and can be contacted directly to discuss rental properties at 1-888-488-8588 or online at
