The number of sales in the Vail, Beaver Creek, Colorado real estate market showed a marked increase in the first quarter of 2010, reports leading Vail Valley real estate brokerage Forbes Sotheby’s International Realty. The firm notes that this could very well be a sign that the country’s luxury real estate market is indeed beginning to make a comeback as recent articles from financial publications like Barron’s and the Wall Street Journal have indicated.

Home sales in Eagle County, which encompasses much of Vail Valley, numbered 276 from January to March of this year. This is a significant increase from 2009’s 145. “We are not predicting a return to 2007 and 2008 highs,” says Forbes Sotheby’s International Realty founder Kraig Forbes, “but the rise in activity that the valley has been seeing is certainly a heartening sign of the state of the market in the near future.”

One of the region’s foremost real estate experts, Forbes has been a real estate broker for 30 years and Forbes Sotheby’s International Realty has been serving the needs of buyers and sellers in the Vail Valley since 1995. The firm specializes in properties of distinction throughout the valley, including Vail, Arrowhead, Beaver Creek, Cordillera, and Bachelor Gulch, Colorado homes for sale.

As a whole, the mountain real estate market has a great many advantages compared to most other markets,” says Forbes. “Vail and Beaver Creek’s location is unbeatable, for one thing. The climate is superb, the cultural and recreational opportunities virtually endless, and the quality of housing options first-rate. When buyers purchase a home here, they are investing not just in a piece of property, but in a lifestyle.”

Recently named one of “America’s 100 Best Adventure Towns” by National Geographic Adventure magazine, Vail, as well as its surrounding areas in Vail Valley, has been one of the brightest spots on Colorado’s vacation destination map for decades. Long known for being the winter playground of the sophisticated and the affluent, Vail is a classic Alpine resort town and Beaver Creek and Vail Colorado homes for sale are renowned for attracting buyers with discriminating tastes from across the globe. Combining spectacular mountain scenery and some of the most challenging skiing terrain with first-class hotels, restaurants and shops, Vail and Beaver Creek make an ideal year-round vacation spot.

“Currently, home prices in the Vail Valley are at the lowest that they have been since 2004,” says Forbes, “which means that there are many good deals out there just waiting to be made. Buyers who’ve been thinking about investing in second homes, for example, will find a wider range of options now than they would have just a few years ago.”
