Healthy Veins… was created to help patients navigate the ever-increasing information about vein problems and treatments.
South Portland, ME (PRWEB) August 08, 2012
Phlebologist Dr. Cindy Asbjornsen of the Vein Healthcare Center in Maine was recently published in the book Healthy Veins…Healthy Legs: A Patient’s Guide to Phlebology. The book was created by the American College of Phlebology (ACP) to help patients navigate the ever-increasing information about vein problems and treatments. It is the ACP’s first book written for consumers.
Each chapter of Healthy Veins… was written by an expert in the field of venous health. Dr. Asbjornsen contributed a chapter entitled “Causes of Vein Disease,” which explores the risk factors for vein disease, including age, heredity, and lifestyle.
The book was edited by phlebologists Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian and Dr. Helane Fronek, with a foreword by ACP Chairman Dr. Nick Morrison. It was created by the ACP’s Public Education Committee, an advisory committee that develops educational materials to promote an understanding of phlebology.
Healthy Veins… can be purchased for $14.95 online at Borders.com. It will soon be available on the ACP website (http://www.phlebology.org), and discounts are available for ACP members and for bulk orders.
