Vatterott College announces the addition of two new programs, Medical Billing and Coding, and Paralegal Studies for its Tulsa, Ok. campus. Both programs offer an Associate of Occupational Studies degree.
Lasting 70 weeks, the Medical Billing and Coding program prepares students for entry-level employment in the health care industry as a Medical Biller/Coder. In addition to working knowledge of medical terminology, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology. Students will also train in administrative duties such ICD-9 coding and hospital and insurance billing. The program introduces students to other concepts such as law and ethics, pharmacology and medical office management.
The Paralegal studies program takes students through a comprehensive 90-week course designed to provide them with fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, as well as working knowledge in substantive and procedural law, and drafting and legal research. Students who graduate from the Paralegal program will be qualified for entry-level positions in private, corporate and public practice of law. Concepts covered in the program include legal research and writing, law office management and trial preparation.
