Vegansaurus Launches Smartphone App for Vegans

The Vegansaurus application, currently available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, allows users to find and locate vegan restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. It features more than 80 eateries, including some in the cities of Santa Rosa, Pleasanton, Sunnyvale and those in between. For each restaurant, users can get directions, view summary information and call them directly. The application is available for download in the Apple iTunes store for $1.99. According to SFist.com, a version of the application for Android phones is currently being developed.

Founded in 2008, Vegansaurus is a blog dedicated to the vegan lifestyle. It features information and resources on vegan food, politics and news. It is based out of San Francisco, California, and boasts a monthly page view count of more than 100,000. The founder and editor in chief of Vegansaurus is Laura Hooper Beck.
