Pickles Auctions are celebrating success in the luxury market, and it's not just cars sales that are on the rise in the prestige arena.
Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) June 13, 2009 -- Despite the economic doom and gloom, Pickles Auctions now have an excess of luxury items selling through their twenty branches in Australia. Motor vehicle sales and savings are soaring in the used prestige market due to large increases in financial repossessions.
But it's not just fast and fancy used cars that are selling through the roof. Luxury watercraft has never been as affordable and Pickles are expecting this trend to become the norm over the next twelve months.
March 2009 saw Pickles Luxury Marine Auctions in Sydney and Queensland clear millions of dollars worth of yachts, cruisers and rigid inflatable's to astute buyers. Retail values ranged from $50,000 to $1,500,000 on the late model demo and low hours vessels.
Pickles Auctions Industrial Director, Bruce Connors, says "Over 1000 bargain hunters registered to bid in the sales. They weren't disappointed. Savings gained across the auction items ranged from 30 to 50 percent."
An unnamed bidder bagged the bargain of the day. A 2008 Fairlane Targa 47 with a book value of $1.5 million sold for just $685,000, Bruce said.
The close of both auctions saw over the boats sell for a total of $4.5 million, with an estimated retails value of almost $10 million.
The luxury boat auction market is a relatively new initiative for Pickles, who are better known for the savings gained on luxury motor vehicles. With regular weekly prestige auctions across Australian and over 40 years of auctioneering experience it's not difficult to understand why they are renowned in their industry.
The cream of the auction crop is the quarterly Luxury, Exotic and 4WD auction held at Moore Park in Sydney. The sale attracts feature cars from Maseratti, Porsche, Ferrari and more and public interest has never been higher. March 2009 also saw the largest attendance and registration figures of the sale, with over 1000 punters wanting a chance to buy their dream car at a reduced-rate price.
It's clear that despite the threat of recession and growing concerns over our financial future, Australians are still looking to fulfill their material dreams. Without compromising on luxury.
