Dr. Cindy Asbjornsen of the Vein Healthcare Center in Maine will present a seminar at the 19th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 30th at the OceanView residential community in Falmouth.
Dr. Asbjornsen’s seminar “Healthy Legs at Any Age” will review the basics of vein health, with a focus on common vein problems for older adults, such as varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The seminar will be at 10:30am at the OceanView campus at 20 Blueberry Lane in Falmouth, Maine. Information from the Vein Healthcare Center will be available throughout the day from 9:00am-2:00pm.
This is the second year that OceanView has participated in the national program. Other activities will include exercise classes, health screenings, and a two-mile Walk/Fun Run to benefit the Falmouth heating assistance program.
The goal for National Senior Health and Fitness Day is to help keep older Americans healthy and fit. More than 100,000 seniors are expected participate in activities at more than 1,000 locations throughout the U.S. Always set for the last Wednesday in May, National Senior Health & Fitness Day is the nation's largest annual health and wellness event for older adults.
Dr. Cindy Asbjornsen is the founder of the Maine Phlebology Association and the Vein Healthcare Center in Maine. Dr. Asbjornsen is certified by the American Board of Phlebology and cares for all levels of venous disease, including spider veins, varicose veins and venous stasis ulcers.
