Baron, a bear, and Monkey teach children the essential strokes of tennis in author Venetia Thompson’s new book “Tennis for Little Humans by Baron and Monkey with a Little Help from Venetia Thompson” (published by AuthorHouse).

Thompson says the book is a basic introduction to the sport of tennis for children between the ages of 4 and 7.

“The book encourages children to be active and combat obesity, a rising problem in today’s society,” Thompson says.

About the Author
As the great-granddaughter of John Moyer Heathcote, the amateur tennis champion, Venetia Thompson was born into a tennis-playing family. Although tennis was always a passion, Thompson’s career was in nursing, which she pursued until three weeks before the birth of her first child. As a nurse, she particularly enjoyed looking after children. It was her love of children and tennis that inspired her to qualify as a tennis coach. She is currently a Lawn Tennis Association licensed coach with a Development Coach Award, a Professional Tennis Registry instructor and has more than 10 years of experience. She lives in Surrey, England, with her husband. They have three sons, a daughter and a granddaughter, all of whom play tennis.
