Small business must project a positive image just as much as big corporations do. But they have less money to devote to building an image. That's why effective branding is so important. Done well, branding brings huge returns without a huge investment.

A great brand gives a business a competitive edge during good times and, most especially, during tough times. It is the greatest asset a small business can have.
To be great, the brand must be familiar to customers and speak of integrity, character, quality, effectiveness, and reliability.
How do small business owners get customers and clients to connect those qualities with their brands? By telling a good story, a story that conveys what a particular business stands for.
To help small business owners make their brands "stick" in the public's mind, Ventureneer is offering a free webinar, Want to Have a Brand That Sticks? Give It a Good Story on Wednesday, March 17, from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
"Small business must project a positive image just as much as big corporations do," says Geri Stengel, founder of Ventureneer. "But they have less money to devote to building an image. That's why effective branding is so important. Done well, branding brings huge returns without a huge investment."
Nothing beats the impact and appeal of a good story, according to Alan Siege, CEO/Owner, Small Business Management Consulting, which specializes in small business advice. He is an instructor for the NYC Department of Small Business Services Entrepreneur Boot Camp as well as being an adjunct professor at the Borough of Manhattan Community College and at New York University.
Siege will be teaching the webinar, in which he will:
- Explore the power of stories by looking at how they transform ideas, attitudes, and even beliefs;
- Describe how companies are using their stories to recruit, retain, and train staff and employees;
- Show participants how they can invest in story;
- Give managers and leaders tools to start telling their stories right away;
- Demonstrate how stories can work for any business.
- Walk participants through a storytelling exercise.
This webinar is targeted toward the entrepreneur, freelancer or the CEOs of small businesses with up to 20 employees.
