A Moving Satire
The quixotic Warren Fourth of July Parade is a perennial favorite in the Mad River Valley; it’s revered for its witty skits and floats, costuming and political satire.
Make your way to Lyndonville’s Bandstand Park for the Annual Burklyn Arts Summer Craft Fair, an exhibit of work by more than 60 accomplished craft makers on July 5.
In addition to a weekend full of Independence Day festivities, the Butties, an all-Beatles tribute band will perform at Okemo Mountain Resort on July 4 and Magic Mountain on July 5.
While many are riding on floats and tractors in parades, there’s also the Vermont Summer Festival Horse Show in Dorset, with hundreds of equestrians and spectators gathered for the Vermont Summer Special, July 2-6.

The Vermont Symphony Orchestra presents "Let's Dance!" at five locations over the holiday weekend: Riley Rink in Manchester on July 2, Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center on July 3, Shelburne Farms on July 4, Three Stallion Inn in Randolph on July 5, and Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe on July 6. Bring a picnic, kick off your shoes, and join us for music from the world of dance - from waltzes to swing and polkas to salsa. The 1812 Overture, marches and fireworks conclude the show.
On July 6, chase down that Fourth of July apple pie with a tri! The Saint Albans Great Race XXXV Triathlon/Duathlon is excellent for first-timers and families. Compete solo or as a team on a three mile run, 12 mile bike and three mile paddle. The post-race gathering includes dining and live entertainment.
