San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 03, 2012
The San Francisco SPCA will be hosting the “Be Mine Valentine's Adopt-a-thon” February 10th - 12th. Jackson Galaxy, the host of Animal Planet's My Cat from Hell, will kick off the event at 1 p.m. on Friday at the SF SPCA Adoption Center. Planned Adopt-a-thon events include a SF SPCA cocktail party, animal behavior workshops, children's activities, tattoos, and much more.
Galaxy, the tattooed and bearded cat behaviorist, is known for combining traditional and off-the-wall techniques to solve behavior issues. Join us for this event and let him help you find the perfect match. “GalaxFees” (reduced adoption fees) will be in effect all weekend. Cats and dogs six months and older will be $10 on Friday, $11 on Saturday, and $12 on Sunday. On Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Jackson will host a free cocktail party at the Adoption Center, where Ken Een from Frisco Tattoo will be offering animal-themed tattoos at discounted prices.
The Adopt-a-thon continues from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday with lots of fun activities, including photo opportunities with Jackson, crafts for kids, Valentine’s chocolates, and a puppy kissing booth. From 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Jackson will hold his Cat Mojo Workshop. In this live presentation, Jackson will explain the history of human/cat relationships, help people understand how cats think, and offer solutions to common behavioral problems. Dr. Jeannine Berger, DVM, DACVB, will also host an animal behavior Q&A session from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. From 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Jackson will meet with potential adopters to help them find their perfect Valentine's Day match. All events are free and will take place at the SF SPCA Adoption Center. There is no need to RSVP.
"We're thrilled to have the Cat Daddy himself join us this Valentine’s Day weekend to spread the love by helping San Franciscans find their perfect match,” says Dr. Jennifer Scarlett, co-president of the SF SPCA. "Our goal is to complete 120 adoptions, and we're excited to be hosting great Valentine's events all weekend for people of all ages. Come enjoy the events and go home with a new best friend!"
Jackson Galaxy is available for interviews prior to the Valentine's Adopt-a-thon. For scheduling, please contact Krista Maloney, SF SPCA Media Relations Associate, at email@example.com or at 415-522-3507.
