Scottsdale, Arizona-based compounding veterinary pharmacy Diamondback Drugs is excited to announce more team member hires for three new territory manager positions, including Barry Burgess in Virginia, Alyssa Mages in Pennsylvania, and Kerrin Venafra in Boston and Rhode Island, as the company continues to extend its reach in the mid-Atlantic and east coast regions.

With these three new hires, Diamondback Drugs adds dynamic salespeople with hands-on experience in regional sales management and animal science to their rapidly growing team of talented professionals. Targeting the state of Virginia, the company brought on Barry Burgess, whose fifteen years worth of territory sales experience in the Virginia area as a representative of the dental industry should prove key to new growth in the state.

New territory manager for the Pennsylvania area (covering Gettysburg, Scranton and Philadelphia) Alyssa Mages brings deep levels of direct experience in the field of veterinary medicine, having spent several years in the field since 2003.

During that time, Mages worked in various capacities in the industry, including as a scrub nurse working with marine and exotic animals undergoing surgery, as a Lead Technician and Medical Manager, and filling a variety of roles in the nursing field, from emergency room to oncology and anesthesia, too. Prior to 2003, she also taught marine biology in the Florida Keys; since that time, she also obtained her degree in Veterinary Nursing (CVT) from Tufts.

In the Boston and Rhode Island areas, new territory manager Kerrin Venafra also brings hands-on, real-world experience that first began when she attended the University of Rhode Island with a concentration in Animal Science, and Psychology. With over twenty years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine, Venafra’s work history includes time spent as an emergency facility vet tech (5 yrs.), seven years in general practice as a vet tech, and time as a practice manager (8 yrs.), as well.

Venafra is a native Rhode Islander whose understanding of the area will greatly impact her ability to expand the reach of the company. She brings her life-long passion for the welfare of animals to the team, as well as the skills and experience she gained with her most recent project, a major animal hospital relocation and expansion that included interior design and an expanded suite of services for the facility.

Diamondback Drugs is pleased to invite our valued clients, partners, and team members to extend a warm welcome to all three of our newest team members: Mr. Barry Burgess, Mrs. Alyssa Mages and Mrs. Kerrin Venafra. May their careers with Diamondback Drugs be even more distinguished than their already impressive achievements in the field.
