The 30th anniversary portfolio tastings in New York, Boston and Scottsdale, Arizona will showcase over 200 Italian wines from 20 different regions.
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 03, 2013
On May 6th, the Altman Building will be host to Vias Imports’ 30th anniversary portfolio tasting, which will showcase over 200 Italian wines from 20 different Italian regions. The New York tasting kicks off a week of portfolio showcases across the country.
A celebration of the depth of Vias Imports’ portfolio, the tasting will give the trade a chance to try the newest offerings from historical Vias partners such as Argiano and Castello dei Rampolla from Tuscany, Broglia from Piedmont, Dal Forno Romano from the Veneto, Tenuta San Leonardo from Trentino and Terredora di Paolo from Campania.
It will also give guests an opportunity to get acquainted with our newest partners, Maison Anselmet from Valle d’Aosta and Valter Sirk from the Slovenian extension of the Collio appellation. The historic Maison Anselmet property represents Italy’s smallest winemaking region in the Vias portfolio. From their dramatically terraced vineyards scattered in the foothills of Mount Blanc, Maison Anselmet will be presenting elegant, local wines such as Petit Rouge and Fumin.
Winemakers, winery owners and winery representatives from Italy will be on-hand to present their new products and latest vintages. This year’s tasting will premiere the 2009 Amarones and 2008 Barbaresco single vineyard reserves. Esteemed head of the Istituto Agrario di San Michele all’Adige enology department, Enrico Paternoster, will be attending to show off the 2012 vintage of native Trentino white wines, such as Nosiola, Müller Thurgau, and Incrocio Manzoni, a unique hybrid of Riesling and Pinot Bianco.
“We spend the whole year sharing the special history and relationship behind each of our wines, and we look forward to celebrating 30 years of Italian regional wines in the United States by bringing together our producer partners and the restaurants and wine shops that have made this all possible,” says Vias Imports President Luca Bigerna.
The anniversary tasting in New York will also feature the debut of several producers who will be distributed by Vias Imports in New York and New Jersey markets. The tasting will premier Frontaura and Nexus, a Vias expansion into Spanish wines, Michael Corso Selections, an extension of the Vias Imports’ French offerings and COMB, an Upstate New York distillery that crafts spirits from honey.
Following the New York tasting, there will be a portfolio showcase on May 7th at the Seaport Hotel in Boston and a final tasting in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 9th at the W Scottsdale.
