Reliability and quality are the two biggest roadblocks to greater adoption.
Gaithersburg, MD (Vocus/PRWEB) March 23, 2011
This new independent survey research report, "Video-Enabled Collaboration in the Enterprise," uncovers an enterprise marketplace that has moved dramatically to adopt video communications as a key operational asset, and that will grow even faster as executive’s concerns over quality and reliability ease.
The survey of executives with telecommunications decision-making responsibilities was conducted and published by Voice Report, a publication of CCMI, in conjunction with BizTechReports, an independent reporting agency that covers enterprise technology trends. The survey is the second issued this year by Voice Report as part of their ongoing Communication Technology Insight survey series focused on the enterprise communications marketplace.
The survey responses of IT leaders from dozens of industries reveal that 67.5 percent of the companies have deployed video-enabled collaboration in their enterprise. The survey also pinpoints two concerns – reliability and quality – as the biggest roadblocks to greater penetration with one-third of respondents citing them.
Additional findings include:
- Almost 50 percent of non-users believe video is too costly.
- 70 percent of respondents say video collaboration features are the biggest benefit over legacy teleconferencing.
- 31 percent of video users report savings of 10 percent or less over travel and meeting costs.
- 58 percent say they plan to invest more in video in 2011.
