Videoblogging Week 2007, an online video event open at any video creator, concluded on Saturday. While most of the attention was on the video makers, startup Mefeedia's unique video discovery technology opened some eyes, beating Google, Yahoo, AOL, and others in the discovery of Videoblogging Week videos.

Online video creators can post their videos to any video hosting service - their personal website, Blip.tv, YouTube, MySpace. No matter what platform the video creator chooses, Mefeedia will help you get discovered.

In a worldwide effort to raise awareness of independent online video, Videoblogging Week came to a close on Sunday. For one week, online video creators were encouraged to upload a new episode a day for a week to a video hosting site of their choice.

While the video makers were the focus, video startup Mefeedia ( http://www.mefeedia.com) made some waves with their technology to find Videoblogging Week videos from the thousands of different video websites available. "Our goal for Videoblogging Week was to demonstrate that Mefeedia's video discovery technology can help video makers and consumers connect, in near real-time, no matter where the video lives," explained Frank Sinton, CEO of Mefeedia.

In fact, Mefeedia's video discovery technology outpaced Google, Yahoo, AOL, and MSN in finding videos posted for Videoblogging Week. The difference was dramatic. When searching for "videobloggingweek2007" - the keyword videobloggers were asked to use for Videoblogging Week videos - the following results were found on each of the highlighted video discovery and aggregation services:

  • Google Blog Search: 321 blog entries
  • Google Video: 204 videos
  • Yahoo Video: 152 videos
