MediaMelon Launches Video Delivery Network

First video delivery network to play high-resolution video downloads directly from a browser is launched.

San Francisco, Ca (PRWEB) November 14, 2007 -- MediaMelon announced today the launch of a pioneering Video Delivery Network that enables content owners to deliver high-resolution videos on the Internet. MediaMelon is the first service to offer video downloads to be accessed and played from a web browser.

MediaMelon has signed up several key content providers, including Nettwerk Music Group, which manages some of North America's biggest artists such as Sarah McLachlan and Avril Lavigne, among others.

"We were immediately drawn to this new concept and are thrilled to now be a part of MediaMelon's Video Delivery Network. MediaMelon allows viewers to play our artists' videos from our site as well as other websites in High-Def quality," said Brent Muhle, General Manager, Nettwerk Music Group .

Videos from MediaMelon's network will be available on mediamelon.com and several partner sites. MediaMelon ensures that videos, TV shows and movies can be played at high quality and can be securely syndicated across various websites, either on an ad-supported or paid basis.

MediaMelon's technology is optimized for delivering professionally produced content. While traditional streaming videos are sufficient for short clips, it is important to have a jitter-free high quality experience for longer video content. MediaMelon's technology is optimized for delivering a high quality, even high definition experience at a cost that makes economic sense for content owners.

"MediaMelon's unique technology makes it easy for content owners to distribute their videos over the web to play at their original quality, without the need for a proprietary application or storefront.

MediaMelon's Video Delivery Engine ensures playback on various browsers and operating systems while keeping the video secure," said Kumar Subramanian, MediaMelon's CEO.
