Three new FG-4000 series models deliver from 12 to 60 HDTV channels over COAX or IP, with unique new features like stream prioritization, extended satellite information, support for new content protection systems, EPG, and a 3-year limited warranty.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) May 08, 2012
VideoPropulsion® (OTC:VPTV) unveiled three new members of the Company's industry leading FloodGate® family of HDTV head-ends for hotels at the DISH® Network® Team Summit here today. The state-of-the-art FG-4000 appliances allow Dish integrators and resellers to provide hospitality and other commercial customers with up to 60 channels of Free-to-Guest (FTG) HD programming for 30 to 50% less cost, space, and power. The captivating offerings also boast unique, new features including Stream Prioritization, Receiver Failover, enhanced SNMP monitoring, online configuration editing, extended satellite information, support for new content protection systems, and a 3-year limited warranty. VideoPropulsion's traditional FloodGate differentiators also include Electronic Program Guide (EPG), custom welcome channels, and SNMP status messaging in both coax and IP models.
"Over the decade, while VideoPropulsion's products have been the standard for HD programming in hotels, our goals have steadfastly remained to provide the most useful features at the lowest possible cost per stream," said Carl Pick, Chairman & CEO at VideoPropulsion. "The FloodGate FG-4000 series continues to separate our Company as the leading HDTV Free-to-Guest supplier in the North American hospitality industry."
The entry-level “Splash” FG-4100E delivers up to 12 HD channels, 1 Private Channel, and Receiver Failover. The mid-tier “Downpour” FG-4110E expands up to 40 channels, along with EPG, 4 Private Channels, and full monitoring, management, and fault recovery facilities. The top-of-the-line “Cloudburst” FG-4120E is the family's flagship model, provides as many as 60 channels, and is also full-featured.
Among the most valuable elements of the FloodGate products is the ability to both anticipate and recover from environmental problems. A system can diagnose and report issues from high room temperature to satellite receiver failure, and, in the event of a receiver loss, fail over to a hot standby or "cannibalize" lowest priority channels.
The EPG provides hospitality guests with a listing of the specific line-up available in their hotel room. Guests can view the schedule of current and future programming which allows them to quickly find programs and channels without surfing through the large lineup. This simple, but uncommon amenity offers guests the ability to conveniently plan viewing with ease.
A private channel facility gives the hotelier a way to display custom welcome channels for their guests using their own prerecorded SD or HD content played in a continuous loop. Private channels can be used to advertise hotel amenities, local attractions, or other content that the venue may desire, on one or more channels on the guest room TV.
FloodGate FG-4000 series appliances will begin shipping in June.
FloodGate appliances from VideoPropulsion bring hospitality HDTV programming from satellite, and cable television MSOs to a variety of hospitality markets and support distribution via RF (coax) or IPTV (Ethernet) infrastructures. All FloodGate models automatically encrypt HD channels to meet Hollywood's strict requirements for content protection using standard technologies readily available from commercial hospitality television set manufacturers. FloodGate systems can co-exist with most pay-per-view and video on demand systems currently deployed.
