Viewpoints Network, a social technology and media company, today announced the integration of the new Facebook “Like” Button into the Viewpoints Technology Platform (VTP), a hosted Social Commerce technology solution for leading brands, retailers and media companies. The “Like” Button enables consumers on VTP partner communities and Viewpoints.com to click a button and automatically share reviews, discussions, ideas, blog posts and buying guides with their friends and connections on Facebook. For brands, the addition of the Facebook “Like” feature is a simple yet powerful solution to amplify conversations about their products and extend the value of the rich user-generated content from their online community.

As part of the new feature, when a consumer "likes" an item on a VTP-hosted site, that information is fed directly into the user’s Facebook account and automatically appears on his or her Facebook Wall and on their friends’ news feeds. All consumer “likes” on VTP sites include a direct link back to the specific item, enabling friends and family in the user’s network to read the entire review, discussion, post or idea and better engage with the brand. In contrast, other providers offer only links to general product pages.

In addition to the one-click convenience of the Facebook “Like” Button feature, Viewpoints recently announced that it allows consumers to link their existing Facebook and Twitter accounts to their VTP user profiles and automatically share their product reviews as status updates on the popular social networking sites.
