Half Moon Bay, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) January 20, 2011

The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay announced today the 2011 winery partners for its Vintner Series, a part of the resort’s extraordinary and acclaimed wine program. The Vintner Series will feature several distinguished California wineries and vineyards throughout the year as its ongoing Vintner Series offers premium wines which guests can taste while visiting Half Moon Bay. “We’ve lined up an amazing group of local California wines this year for our Vintner Series at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay,” said Ian Cauble, the resort’s wine director and lead sommelier. “These wines showcase The Ritz-Carlton commitment to excellence and are some of my personal favorites.”

As part of the Vintner series, resort guests will be offered complimentary featured wine selections upon check-in, a by-the-glass menu in The Conservatory Lounge, and wine pairings with the Chef’s Tasting Menu in Navio. The Chef’s Tasting Menu, prepared by Navio Executive Chef Richard Gras, is a custom-created six-course dining experience for the entire table using the finest seasonal ingredients from local farms in California.

Also new for the Vintner Series in 2011 is the addition of a monthly signature Vintner Dinner in Navio with a four-course menu created by Navio Executive Chef Richard Gras and paired wines with each course from the month’s featured vintner. A vintner’s representative will host the evening and discuss each of the wines and the pairings. Menu pricing inclusive of wine pairing will be $99 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity.

Every Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. during the Vintner Series, ENO Tasting Room will host a Wine Educator from one of the featured wineries to present and educate guests about the latest wines in its portfolio. The tasting fee ranges from $25 to $35 per person, based upon the vintner. Visitors can also choose to elevate their tasting experience with flights of hand-selected cheeses and chocolates from ENO for an additional fee.

ENO is a custom-built, upscale wine tasting room located in The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. ENO guests enjoy breathtaking ocean views while sampling sommelier-selected flights of wine, cheese and chocolate, as well as wines by the glass and bottle. The room’s acclaimed young sommelier, Ian Cauble, named in 2009, one of the Top 5 Best Young Sommeliers in the country by The Court of Master Sommeliers, specializes in introducing guests to new and interesting wines while educating them on aspects of wines, wineries and varietals.
