Inspired by a dream she had, Virginia Burton Stringer adds another book to her “Maagy” series with “Enchantment: Book 3 in the Maagy Series” (published by Archway Publishing). The book follows 16-year-old Princess Maagy as she discovers the truth about her mother’s past and her own future.

“It is the metaphorical journey every young girl must take as she enters puberty,” Burton Stringer says. “It is about the trials, failures, and successes of navigating the transition between little girl and adult woman.”

After a joyous celebration breakfast of pancakes and ice cream with her father, King Henry, on Maagy’s 16th birthday, Henry tells her a story about her mother and shows her a blue crystal. The greatest mystery in Maagy’s life has been her mother, Queen Melania. How and when did she die, and why would her father never talk about her?

When asked what she wants readers to take from the book, Burton Stringer says, “I’d like for teens, especially, to take away a sense of empowerment from Maagy’s journey. I want parents and youngsters, alike, to understand that the tumultuous time between childhood and adulthood for girls is only a very short five years. Give these fragile creatures who are our daughters the latitude to become the fierce warriors they are meant to be.”
