Connections Academy, one of the country's leading virtual K-12 school operators, has launched a virtual private school called National Connections Academy (NaCA) for families seeking a superior-quality and flexible private school option. Enrollment in NaCA for the 2009 fall semester will close on August 26th and interested students are encouraged to apply now. A series of free information sessions for interested families are planned (see below). For more information visit http://www.NationalConnectionsAcademy.com .

National Connections Academy is an accredited, online private school serving students in grades K-12 throughout the United States. NaCA's innovative private school brings the classroom to the student with a combination of computer-based curriculum, real-time instruction, and time-tested course materials from leading publishers.

Offering both full- and part-time options, NaCA meets the needs of students who want either a complete virtual school education or those interested in taking individual courses. In addition, NaCA offers a special ''high school to college'' program with American Public University that affords NaCA students the opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree in a total of four years.

National Connections Academy is part of the Connections Academy family of schools which expects to serve over 25,000 students nationwide in the 2009-2010 school year. NaCA offers the same hallmark qualities as other Connections Academy schools, including dedicated teachers, personalized feedback and guidance, detailed daily lessons plans, and a flexible learning schedule.

"We are excited to bring the qualities that Connections Academy is known for, like our incredible curriculum, our supportive school community, and our goal of helping students achieve both academic and personal success, to students seeking a very flexible private school option," said Dr. Steven Guttentag, Executive Vice President for Connections Academy and Head of School for National Connections Academy. "We have received numerous requests for a private virtual school and look forward to offering the proven Connections Academy program with students and families throughout the U.S."

Learning from home, NaCA students will work closely with their parents, or another "Learning Coach" and a teacher using detailed daily lesson plans that can be personalized to meet individual student needs. Teachers offer expertise, encouragement, and support and handle instruction, grading and testing - just as they would in a traditional classroom. Learning Coaches work closely with the teacher to monitor progress in the home.

Connections Academy's private online school's student-centered approach benefits all types of students - those who are gifted, those who are struggling, and those who may do better learning outside a traditional classroom.
