After meeting the VocabularySpellingCity team at FETC last year, I was even more impressed with their dedication to helping students learn and how they encourage teachers to share any ideas with them.

VocabularySpellingCity.com is pleased to announce that it will be an exhibitor at the Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC) 2012 on January 24-26 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. VocabularySpellingCity is an interactive educational website established in 2007. Hundreds of teachers, technology coordinators, and administrators visited the VocabularySpellingCity booth last year, many of whom actively use the website in their classroom. In 2011 alone, over 300,000 teachers and parents around the globe registered for accounts on the site, making 2011 VocabularySpellingCity’s most successful year ever.
VocabularySpellingCity invites teachers, principals and other education professionals to visit Booth #1036 in the Exhibit Hall, where you can meet the VocabularySpellingCity team and learn more about the site, pick up a free mouse pad, and register to win a Premium Membership for your classroom! VocabularySpellingCity will also be doing a brief presentation as part of featured speaker, Shannon Miller’s Professional Development Workshop, “Empower Your Students to Connect, Create and Collaborate with Each Other.”
Being able to interact with their audience allows VocabularySpellingCity to create a better product. FETC 2012 will mark VocabularySpellingCity’s second year exhibiting at the conference. Since last year, VocabularySpellingCity has introduced many new features, including their newest premium feature - 'Assignments', which allows teachers to easily differentiate instruction by choosing a word list and a number of activities to assign to the whole class, groups of students or individual students. While students are logged in, all of the activities completed on the site are automatically recorded for their teacher.
“VocabularySpellingCity has been my favorite website for spelling since I discovered it about four years ago,” says Mary Balthaser, eighth grade teacher at The de Paul School in Louisville, Kentucky. “After meeting the VocabularySpellingCity team at FETC last year, I was even more impressed with their dedication to helping students learn and how they encourage teachers to share any ideas with them. VocabularySpellingCity is the perfect company to partner with to increase spelling and vocabulary scores.”
VocabularySpellingCity has more than 830,000 members around the world, nearly 40% of whom are teachers. Students can play up to 25 interactive learning games such as HangMouse, Unscramble, and Premium Crossword using their teacher’s custom or shared lists. The Teacher Resources section includes dozens of word lists on topics ranging from math and science vocabulary to compound words and analogies. VocabularySpellingCity’s database is comprised of more than 45,000 words and 60,000 definitions and sentences. Members can customize their sentences to make the content even more engaging for their students.
