We wanted to create a buzz - to get people excited and talking about the BMW brand and the Performance Center
Lanham, MD (Vocus) October 16, 2007
Vocus, Inc., (NASDAQ: VOCS) a leading provider of on-demand software for public relations management, today announced that BMW included Vocus' PRWeb among the tools to help promote its recent 'Relearn to Drive' campaign. The creative multimedia campaign aims to bring the BMW Performance Driving School to life and drive people to visit http://www.RelearnToDrive.com.
As dynamic as the campaign itself, PRWeb was perfectly suited for BMW's campaign and offered a platform that could distribute the multimedia components of 'Relearn to Drive.' "This campaign is unique, and we were looking for new ways to get the message out," said Dan Gubitosa, manager of the BMW Performance Center (South Carolina). "PRWeb helped to reach out to a broader target group."
"We wanted to create a buzz - to get people excited and talking about the BMW brand and the Performance Center," continued Gubitosa. "Although the campaign has only been operational since mid-June, we have already begun to see an increase in traffic to our main website as well as an increase in school registrations."
The BMW Performance Center Driving School offers a variety of classes that highlight the performance, responsiveness and safety features that come with BMW products. Motoring enthusiasts can gain the practical experience they need to respond to the uncertainties of real-world driving situations from any of the one- and two-day instructional programs, which are open to licensed drivers with a valid driver's license. Featuring videos of offbeat characters demonstrating driving lessons past, BMW was able to leverage PRWeb's feature video component and SEO tools to embed its online videos and include links directly within the body of the press release to both increase awareness for the campaign and help drive traffic to their site.
Gubitosa added, "As a 'Company of Ideas,' BMW is always interested in using innovative tools and methods such as PRWeb. This is not restricted to the automobiles themselves but comprises all of our business activities including PR."
