Our new HTTPS Fax Platform is a hybrid between T.37 and T.38, and it provides the reliability of traditional TDM connections, while simultaneously maintaining the real-time communication.
Miami, FL (Vocus) September 23, 2009
FaxBack, a leading provider of reliable VoIP fax solutions for business, enterprise and carrier applications, today announced its new HTTPS Fax Platform at the VON conference & expo. (VON Conference & Expo, Booth # 1500)
This innovative new technology enables fax machines and fax servers to achieve the same cost savings as voice calls, while maintaining the same reliability over internet-based VoIP, WiFi, cellular, or satellite connections. FaxBack's new Fax Platform also enables fax machines, desktop fax applications and fax servers to stream fax data over the internet with TDM level reliability, while running on relatively low quality networks.
"Service providers and carriers in the VoIP industry have been plagued with a variety of reliability issues pertaining to transmitting T.38 over the Internet, and as a result, many of their customers miss the cost-savings of VoIP, because they're forced to maintain additional TDM connections for fax machines," said Quentin Dible, Vice President of Operations for FaxBack. "Our new HTTPS Fax Platform is a hybrid between T.37 and T.38, and it provides the reliability of traditional TDM connections, while simultaneously maintaining the real-time communication."
FaxBack's new HTTPS-based fax platform is the core of FaxBack's carrier solution. It is designed specifically to address the reliably and security issues of transmitting T.38 over the open internet. It provides highly scalable, real-time HTTPS fax communication from the following premise based fax clients and servers:
- New Fax ATA (now in beta) which utilizes AudioCodes' ATA hardware platform
- Microsoft Fax / Windows Fax and Scan VoIP Plug-in
- FaxBack's NET SatisFAXtion Enterprise and Small Business premise fax servers
- Other fax servers, via FaxBack's highly scalable SDK
FaxBack's HTTPS-based fax solution can scale to a full DS3 (672 ports) per server, and it offers full fail-over and redundancy. This technology features a multi-tier architecture, which facilitates carrier-to-carrier handoff via HTTPS. This makes fax traffic routing easy for smaller carriers, while extending additional business opportunities for larger carriers.
Enterprise customers can also leverage FaxBack's new HTTPS fax platform by isolating their media gateway inside their firewall, and passing HTTPS through, which can alleviate the network traffic load balancing issues that typically accompany complications with T.38.
