eEye Wins Gold for Vulnerability Management

Fully loaded, Retina CS may be all one needs for vulnerability management.

eEye Digital Security, a provider of IT security and unified vulnerability management solutions, today announced that its Retina CS Management solution received top honors in Vulnerability Management over industry competitors, including GFI and McAfee, in Information Security’s 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards.

For the sixth consecutive year, Information Security readers voted to determine the best security products of 2011. More than 1,500 voters participated this year, rating products in 14 different categories.

eEye’s Retina CS Management was named the Gold Winner in the Vulnerability Management category. Retina CS is the only unified vulnerability and compliance management solution that integrates security risk discovery, prioritization, remediation, and reporting into a single, web-based console.

This award comes on the heels of a 2011 5-star rating from SC Magazine, which commented in the corresponding product review, “…Fully loaded, Retina CS may be all one needs for vulnerability management.”

According to Information Security, Retina CS Management was awarded the Gold based on “…high marks from readers for its breadth of applications and devices. The vulnerability management product also scored well for effectively and accurately identifying vulnerabilities in a timely manner and its scalability.”

Retina CS was developed to reduce time and effort in identifying critical vulnerabilities, which should be fixed immediately versus those that can be addressed in priority order later. The solution’s flexible risk scoring allows users to refine CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) based on business, assets, and risk appetite. Also, the solution scales to any number of assets and is notably at the center of two of the largest vulnerability management installments in the world.

Diana Kelley, partner, SecurityCurve, states: “The vulnerability management market is finally evolving from disconnected, find-and-fix tools for scanning and patching to integrated solutions that incorporate inventory, testing, prioritization and risk data so organizations can manage the entire vulnerability life cycle.”

“We appreciate and thank the Information Security readers who selected Retina CS Management as the vulnerability management leader in this highly competitive space,” said Brad Hibbert, VP Strategy, eEye. “Recognition from IT security professionals energizes our commitment to develop products that help them reduce risk and streamline vulnerability management. We are extremely driven to continue to earn accolades based on the strength of our technology and customer service.”
