When booth graphics are part of your star line-up, they must have the best color definition, eye-appeal and impact. That’s why Vycom’s SGIA Show booth (#3035) panels and 3-D displays are made of their own Celtec PVC and printed by master wide-format printers 2XL Imaging of Union, NJ.
The booth graphics feature life-like cut-outs, staggered in a 3-D recreation of their ad, and also feature Vycom’s Designboard and Playboard materials. The scene is at a beach, with vivid scenery, a boat and a young woman sun tanning with an imaginary product called Tan-Rite. “The backdrop of sky, clouds, mountains and trees are 6 – 8 ft. cutouts that seem to come to life based on the way they are positioned,” said Chris Paas, Director of Sales and Marketing, Vycom. “We wanted to show just how realistic printing with Celtec can be.”
Kevin Scharfstein, operations manager at 2XL Imaging said, “We printed the images on ¾” Celtec Ultra White, which we like for its high gloss finish.” In addition, 2XL used Vycom’s Designboard, an HDPE material in colors that resemble metal or the rich look of wood, in mahogany color for the boat. Shelf stands in the shape of the Tan-Rite bottle are also made of Designboard, as well as the booth’s TV stand, while the company’s Playboard HDPE in blue recreated the ocean. Designboard is a new product family for Vycom which features new trend setting color and texture palettes. This material is perfect for outdoor cabinetry, POP displays, signage and more.
As booth hand-outs, the new Tan-Rite ad was printed by Sign Me Up, a print and sign shop in Livingston, NJ. “We printed the ad on 4 X 8 1/8” inch sheets of Celtec and then easily cut the sheets into 5 X 7 inch post cards,” said Darin DuBrow, owner. “Celtec’s colors and texture were rich and the sheets cut like butter. It’s so easy to work with, you can even score it with a knife and snap it and still get a clean edge.”
“The entire booth gives you the feeling that you’re at the beach,” said Paas. He attributes this to the life-sized and lifelike graphics. “Big jobs like Vycom’s booth graphics and display pieces are where we shine,” said Scharfstein. “Print is an evolving art and we pride ourselves in staying ahead of the curve—which all starts with consistent, high performance materials like Celtec.”
