Wappan Station is a sheep station and farm that offers holiday accommodations to visitors who want to enjoy the gorgeous pastoral setting and bucolic experience. With the recent refurbishment of the station’s Wappan Cottage, Owner Sarah Tehan saw a significant increase in the number of guests she and her staff have welcomed.

The attractively renovated cottage is definitely a huge draw. Wappan Cottage is one of the station’s lovely country cottages available for holidaymakers. It is a self-contained accommodation with large five bedrooms and a wonderful view of Lake Eildon. It can comfortably sleep ten people, which is perfect for two families who want to spend their vacation together. “Wappan cottage has two bathrooms, three showers, two separate living areas, an outdoor BBQ and garden setting. As far as bedding goes, this spacious cottage accommodation has a main bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an ensuite, and there’s another queen-sized bed in the second bedroom. Two of the other bedrooms are twin share and the fifth has a set of bunks. There is also a queen-sized sofa bed in the kitchen/living area, which also has a wood heater. The second living/dining room has an open fire,” Ms. Tehan describes.

While the cottage itself is enough lure for people wishing for a farm stay holiday, another factor for Wappan Station’s rise in popularity is the bumper year for grass growth. The sheep farmers have had very good weather in the spring and summer, which resulted in a good growing season. Combine that with the higher water levels of the stunning Lake Eildon abutting Wappan Station and the Mansfield accommodation has achieved a condition that is nothing short of idyllic.

Wappan Station offers much more than a farmstay experience for its visitors. It is ideally located in the midst of three gorgeous Victoria destinations – High Country, Lake Eildon and Mount Buller. Possible activities include various water sports, winery tours, visits to local markets and special events, trail rides, bushwalking, etc. “In winter, Wappan Station is perfect for large groups looking for off-mountain accommodation for Mt. Buller. With self contained accommodation just a short drive from Buller’s snow fields, you can enjoy the thrills of snow skiing and snowboarding without breaking your budget,” Ms. Tehan points out.

The Tehan family has owned Wappan Station for five generations. Only two hours from the city of Melbourne, this farmstay accommodation is one of Victoria’s most productive farms with 10,000 beautiful acres of rolling hills and fields. “You will discover abundant Australian flora and fauna in the wild, such as kangaroos, koalas, wombats, possums and echidnas. This is a grand farm stay Victoria style,” Ms. Tehan avers.

With said accommodation improvements compounded with the natural offerings of the area, Wappan Station can easily be one of the top holiday destinations of the summer.
