The Warner Pacific Open begins at 9:15 a.m. with an open 5K run/2K walk, presented by Red Lizard Running Club. The 5K run is a USATF sanctioned event and is the second race in the Stumptown Cross Country Series. The Junior Olympic races start at 10:00 a.m. and will feature kids from multiple age groups navigating the Lents Park course.
Top collegiate teams from around the Northwest compete in the main event, with the women running a 5K, while the men face off at an 8K distance race. This event also serves as the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Preview Meet, giving CCC teams a taste of the course that will host the conference championship meet in November.
Capping the day are four high school races, attracting top teams from the Portland Metro area across 1A to 6A classifications. Prizes are awarded to the top finishers in all of the day’s races.
“Warner Pacific is proud to host such an exceptional athletic event and provide opportunities for our urban community,” said Jamie Joss, the College’s Director of Athletics. “The Warner Pacific Open is an exciting day of racing for runners and spectators of all ages to showcase their talents and support their athletes.”
