The Corbet-Aspray House, one of the last remaining estates designed by the renowned Kirtland Cutter, a 19th century architect who is credited for his astounding estate contributions to Spokane, as well as in many areas in the United States, will sell at public auction on March 3.

The Corbet-Aspray House, a 30-room country inn, will be sold by public auction at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2008, according to Jim Owen, broker and auctioneer, with Higgenbotham Auctioneers International.

"This is a breathtaking mansion," said Owen, who explained that the inn has a total of 8,210 square feet on three and half floors with garden event seating for 250.

"This property was previously listed at $2.5 million," Owen said. "We will sell it at auction above a minimum bid of $1.3 million. This property will be auctioned as a Turn-Key operation, including all furniture and property."

In addition, Owen said the estate includes five to eight bedrooms with five full bathrooms and three half baths, a main floor reception capacity of 125, and a 14ft. x 28ft. dining room with original quarter-sawn oak.

Owen noted, "The Corbet-Aspray House is one of the last remaining estates designed by the renowned Kirtland Cutter, a 19th century architect who is credited for his astounding estate contributions to Spokane, as well as in many areas in the United States. He is also credited being the architect of the world famous Davenport Hotel in Spokane, which is well known for its sophistication."

Built in 1908, Owen said this century old home was completely restored in 1999 and expanded in 2005. It features elegant and extensive trim, base and double crown molding in Prairie Craftsman style and is all connected through four sets of Oak, Mahogany and Maple pocket door systems.

The newly renovated commercial kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, clear maple, quality tile work, three sinks and a center island.

The Corbet-Aspray House is within walking distance of downtown Spokane, along with a variety of the regions best restaurants, the Spokane Opera House, Spokane Arena, Convention Center and Museum.

Higgenbotham will conduct the real estate auction on site at 820 West 7th Avenue in Spokane. The property may be previewed from 1p.m. to 4p.m. on Sunday, March 2, and on March 3, from 10 a.m. until the auction begins.
