By putting an industry veteran in a leadership channel role, we are bringing new focus and resources to the Wasp reseller community.

To further strengthen its support of value-added resellers (VARs), Wasp Barcode Technologies has named Chris Wilkes its national channels manager. With a strong background as a channel leader, Wilkes will focus on creating more structure and initiatives for the company’s VAR programs, helping IT service providers reap incremental sales and profitability while serving small and mid-sized businesses.

“By putting an industry veteran in a leadership channel role, we are bringing new focus and resources to the Wasp reseller community,” said Tom O’Shea, general manager for Wasp Barcode Technologies. “This will create long-term benefits for our partners, who can provide Wasp’s unique productivity solutions to their clients and gain additional revenue opportunities.”

Wilkes already has started investing time with existing partners to determine the best ways to strengthen their relationships with Wasp. He is using these insights to develop an in-depth VAR strategy the company will put into place later this year.

“I joined the Wasp management team because I was impressed with the strong demand for Wasp’s complete small business solutions, as well as the company’s dedication to the VAR channel,” Wilkes said. “I’m excited to take our solutions even deeper for VARs and look forward to becoming an integral part of the business.”

Prior to joining Wasp, Wilkes served as executive vice president of business development for Incentra, LLC, an IT value-added reseller and managed services provider. Wilkes also filled leadership roles, including president and vice president, at Sterling Software, Stornet, SANZ, Pioneer-Standard Electronics and Southwestern Bell Telephone.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from Texas Tech University, followed by an MBA with an emphasis in finance from Texas A&M University.
