California American Water Raises the Roof on 1.5 Million Gallon Water Storage Tank

California American Water and its contractors will build the roof of a new 1.5 million gallon water storage tank by continuously placing more than 300 cubic yards of concrete.

Sacramento, Calif. (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 2, 2009 -- California American Water is constructing the roof in one morning as part of its project to construct a new 1.5 million gallon water storage tank to serve customers in the Antelope area of Sacramento County. 35 trucks carrying more than 300 cubic yards of concrete will arrive at the construction site to pump concrete onto the roof of a partially constructed water tank. This continuous pour of concrete will create the roof of the large new storage tank serving customers in Antelope.

"It's a tightly choreographed procedure involving dozens of concrete trucks arriving to allow concrete to be pumped up the top of the partially constructed tank. It will be a continuous placement to construct the roof in its entirety in the morning."
