We developed the first truly customizable drinking water treatment system for consumers who want a system that could take care of their evolving water quality needs
Manassas, VA (PRWEB) July 18, 2008
Consumers in Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware, New Hampshire and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia who want the highest quality drinking water can now have made-to-order water, thanks to Mermaid Water and the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station, the first customizable and expandable drinking water treatment system in the United States. This first-of-its-kind drinking water treatment system was developed by Kinetico Incorporated, a leading water treatment provider and pioneer of water treatment innovations worldwide. The new system raises the bar for NSF certified water treatment systems by removing more contaminants than any other NSF certified drinking water system on the market, providing faster flow rates and higher production rates than any comparable drinking water system on the market. Available now through Mermaid Water in Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware, New Hampshire and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, consumers can learn more about the system at http://www.kinetico.com .
The new Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station is the only drinking water treatment system created to meet consumers' ever-changing water treatment needs. The expandable system solves existing poor water quality issues as well as those that may develop in the future. Simply stated, it's the last drinking water system consumers will ever need to buy, because it will never be obsolete. The longevity of the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station is due to its interchangeable, five-cartridge filter design, which allows consumers to choose from nine available cartridges--each solving a particular water quality issue--based on their unique water treatment needs. While solving water quality issues may not always require five cartridges, consumers can add or remove cartridges to suit their changing water treatment needs. The Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station is also expandable, allowing for supplementary cartridge installation should the need arise. In addition to its customizability, the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station produces approximately 25 percent more water than other comparable drinking water treatment systems, removes more contaminants than most systems on the market, and produces biopure water with the Purefecta® Bacteria/Virus Guard cartridge, the highest quality drinking water available through water treatment. With the Mineral Plus cartridge, a consumer can introduce minerals, such as magnesium and calcium, into the treated water if desired. Some health experts claim that these minerals may be beneficial to your health.
"We developed the first truly customizable drinking water treatment system for consumers who want a system that could take care of their evolving water quality needs," says Bruce King, President of Mermaid Water. "Many water quality issues develop over time as chemicals leech into wells, old water pipes degrade, or as source water changes. With the new Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station, our customers can ensure they get the water they want when they want it, at flow rates and production rates unmatchable in the market."
Like all Kinetico water treatment products, the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station operates without electricity, using water (hydropower) to run the system. One of the fastest flowing systems available on the market, the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station can produce more than 40 gallons of biopure water a day, offering homeowners nearly twice the daily production rate of systems using a typical air charge tank. This means faster faucet flows, which is an excellent benefit to consumers frustrated by slow product water flow issues. For consumers concerned with water conservation, the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station is one of the most efficient drinking water systems on the market.
Currently, nine different water filters are available for the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station; the installed combination depends on the exact nature of the homeowner's water quality problem and his or her particular desires. While an expanded line of cartridges will be announced in 2008, the current water treatment cartridges available for installation in the Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station are:
- Sediment prefilter--used in well water applications to remove particulates and sediment
- Carbon/Sediment prefilter--used with city water installations to remove particulates and sediment as well as chlorine
- Chloramine prefilter--used with city water applications to remove chloramines, which many municipalities use in place of chlorine
- Volatile organic compounds (VOC) filter--used to remove VOCs (including pesticides, paints and paint strippers, cleaning supplies and building materials)
- Purefecta® Virus /Bacteria Guard--uses Purefecta technology to remove bacteria and viruses
- Arsenic Guard--provides extra protection against arsenic V and arsenic III
- Perchlorate Guard--used to remove perchlorate (a by-product of rocket fuel) from water
- Mineral Plus--cartridge that adds magnesium and calcium into treated water
- GAC postfilter--removes any unwanted tastes and odors from water
